2014 Christmas Bright and Beautiful 1

Stampin' Up! have released the MOST beautiful star stamp set ever - yes I am loving it! Bright and Beautiful (WM135026/CM135029) is so versatile and can be used to create gorgeous cards and paper Christmas tree decorations.  First a card that looked simple but did not turn out so simple!  This was cased from pinterest...

The background was stamped with the star in Real Red.  The cover piece of whisper white was stamped, cut out (I wanted the star for use in another project) using the coordinating dies and then run though the big shot to emboss the polka dots.  Then came the lining up - yes ... so the cover piece is not as square and even as I had envisaged!  So this simple card turned out not so simple.

But there is a much easier way of creating this card and its effect - Pop the cover piece with dimensionals - be sure to place one under the star and use the star you cut out of the cover piece, and stick flat to the base card, using the cover piece as the locating template - ta da...  Thanks Rose for making this card oh so much easier LOL.  The base card in this case is Real Red so you can see the contrast of the star on white.

I created highlights with the star embossing folder and punched out stars using the Champaign, Red and Diamonds glimmer paper.  I added Rhinestones to the centre of the stars in the top two but chose a star for the one above.

It amazes me how a fresh set of eyes can see a creation so differently to one's own.  But what a lovely card either way.  Here is a peek at tomorrow's post, with a different slant on today's card...
