Accordian cards 1

Accordion cards are wonderful fun to decorate and make a story.  The ladies at PLR had Easter on their mind and created these beauties.

The cards are very simple to make
Card dimension 12" x 5 3/4" this then fold down so the card will fit in a C6 envelope
       Score landscape on your score board at  1 1/8";  2 1/4";  4 1/4";  6 1/4";  9"
Fold the card in a zig zag pattern along scores and start to decorate

I hope you enjoyed looking and that you are inspired to make a story on an accordion card.

Thanks for stopping by

French Foliage Workshop Highlight

French Foliage was the the focus of a workshop I conducted sometime ago.  This is what the lovely ladies from PLR made at that workshop.

This one was made by Marion

This one was made by Norma...

and Kris made this one...

I am sure you will agree that these cards are beautiful and I must tell you the last two ladies have been card making for nearly a year!  I am so proud of their beautiful work.

If you are unsure about card making but would like to give it ago like Norma and Kris, please call me and you can come to a beginners class and see if you like the art of card making.  Have a wonderful day.

French Foliage & Hearts

Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits gives you a textured heart to use as a feature on your cards if you want a little more than the small heart from the Hearts Collection Framelits 125599.  This card was inspired from a card I made a few posts ago (details can be viewed HERE) in Wedding & Cards of Love...which also implements French Foliage on the diagonal of the background of the card and Embellished Events for the greeting...

Wisteria Wonder, Black and Whisper White are the colours used on this card.
This card, in Marina Mist, Whisper White and Crumb Cake, utilises the Framed Tulips EF 121809 and Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits 117332 as the features. I roughly sponged the edges of the Whisper White background card with Marina Mist and Crumb Cake ink.
The ribbon is from the new seasons Catalogue 2013 (129292); gorgeous striped Organdy Ribbon.
I trailed the French Foliage splatter in Crumb Cake, diagonally but randomly, on the background, with little highlights of Marina Mist hearts from the stamp set Create a Cupcake (W123553 / C121982).
A close up of the embossing and sponging...
The greeting used is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments (W119185 / C120024), stamped in Crumb Cake on Whisper White and punched out using the Word Window Punch.  This is mounted on Marina Mist, punched out using the Modern Label Punch.  The greeting is then raised using SU Dimensionals.
Both the greeting and scallop heart are raised using SU Dimensionals

Time to step away from the blues and go the Raspberry Ripple and Melon Mambo on Whisper White.  Sponge the edges and this time I spritzed the diagonal instead of using the French Foliage...
I like the French Foliage a lot more, what do you think?
Hearts, hearts, hearts...
I hope you enjoyed today's post - I would love to read your comments, so please leave a comment and let me know if you love French Foliage as much as I do.

French Foliage & Butterflies

French Foliage (W123557 / C121166) is a very versatile stamp and one of those, essentials for both scrapbooking and card making as it softens and adds texture to your backgrounds.  Coupled with Stampin' Up!'s new butterfly punches (Elegant Butterfly 127526 & Bitty Butterfly 129406) a simple yet stunning card can be created.

On a Crumb Cake base card I've matted the Whisper White on Perfect Plum.
I've sponged the edge of the Whisper White card very lightly with Perfect Plum and then added the French Foliage splatters in Perfect Plum over the card with a highlight of crumb cake on the Left to Right diagonal.  The Butterflies were punched out of Vellum and Perfect Plum and lightly sponged in Perfect Plum and Crumb Cake respectively.

The sponging a little closer...
The Butterflies are adhered to the card with glue dots as they lift the butterflies slightly off the card.
Vellum is a great material to use on both your cards and scrapbooking pages.   I hope this card inspires you to not only use your butterfly punches that nestle so well onto each other, but to incorporate vellum into your projects.

The next card is one I've already posted but it shows you the same layout but with Butterflies from the Embosslit Beautiful Wings. Details for this card can be viewed HERE.

This time the butterflies from Beautiful Wings trail down the centre of the card.

This is a very simple layout and has different looks with different highlights - this card employs the Beautiful Wings Embosslits 118138 in Pink Pirouette with a Doily Background and the use of the script stamp from the French Foliage set.
The new in-colour Primrose Petals is just gorgeous, and works so well with pink pirouette, soft suede and the beautiful vintage lace from Stampin' Up!
Enjoy your butterflies and happy crafting on these wonderful sunny days and warm nights.
Happy crafting, Love

Female Cards - Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink, I'm feeling a little vintage and the need to use pink...  I have created these using the inspiration of the SU Demonstrator Global site.

The base card is Primrose Petals, Whisper White has been embossed using the big shot and EF 121809 Framed Tulips.  The card is then randomly stamped with French Foliage W123557 / C121166 in Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette.  The Butterfly is cut from Pink Pirouette using the big shot and 118138 Beautiful Wings and sits on the cut out from 126999 Delicate Doilies Sizzlit.
A close up so you can see the edge of the butterfly is sponged with Crumb Cake, as is the Greeting shown above.
Rhinestones add a little bling and definition to the body of the Butterfly.

Not everyone has a bigshot so I made this card, a little more layering and the butterflies can be interchanged with SU butterfly punches 127526 Elegant Butterfly and 129406 Bitty Butterfly.

Crumb Cake base, Pink Pirouette frame, Whisper White card stamped with images from the must have stamp set French Foliage W123557 / C121166 stamped in Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette

Again a little closer so you can see the subtle sponging on the winds of the butterfly.

The crochet trim featured on both cards is 118481 Victoria. I just love it.  Again simple layouts to produce purrrfect cards to give to your loved ones.  Rach I must again thank you for such beautiful photography, you have captured the true beauty of these cards.

I hope you visit again soon and please remember to sign up to receive an e-mail each time I post.

Beautiful Wings Embosslits Dies

I love this embosslit - Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings, just one of the many formats of tools that can be used in the Big Shot or cuttlebug.  These dies not only cut out the shape but also emboss the shape, hence the name embosslit, and in this case the embossed shape is butterflies.  These cards are from my something OLD collection, but I would like to share them with you......
Yellow, blue and white; SU's Daffodil Delight (satin ribbon no longer available), Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White, is always a refreshing combination and with a little bling, although simple, I really like this card.  The wording is from the retired 119163 Cottage Garden
A little closer...
And another simple example using the butterflies on Whisper White.  The frames are drawn on using a rectangular card template.  This gives the uneven but straight lines...I like that look

Playing with colours and bling/pearls, again something very simple using Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Rose Red and Perfect Plum complemented with thank you stamps from the retired 115930 Thank You Kindly
and a litle closer....
And for a spot of colour I used the SU DSP and pleated ribbon from a past mini - how I LOVE this ribbon....

Get well soon is from the retired 116416 Sincere Salutations stamp set

My beautiful son loves this card, it is a spinner card I made for Ben's Grandmother, the colours inspired from the colour of the clothing we bought for her...Wisteria, Pink Pirouette, Certain Celery and of course whisper white. There is another example of making the card with Catherine Pooler.
The embossing folder is 155964 Elegant Bouquet is highlited with 102023 Dazzling Diamonds and coloured with coordinating markers.  The wording is from the beautiful 121500 Curly Cute. Love, love, love that lettering.
Enjoy creating using your Big Shot and Beautiful Wings Embosslits Dies, exclusive to SU.  They are a must to have and wonderful to play with.

Happy crafting
Love

Top Note Die - Cards

I wanted to make something a little bit fancy LOL, always a challenge for me.  I follow a blog Stamp with Tam and she had this sketch up from "try stampin on Tuesdays #56,

so I played along as I wanted a few card samples using our fabulous top note die.
This is what I made - nice and simpleManhatton Rose with the rose highlighted by using the SU marker on its side to enable the colour to bleed onto the raised sections of the card.

Then I fancied it up a little...
114517 Manhatton Rose Embossing Folder on confetti white, coloured with a real red marker. Base card is real red to match.
Then I started to play....
I used 119277 Elegant Lines embossing folder on Lucky Limade and Cajuan Craze.  The flower and butterfly are Embosslit Dies from SU 114515 Flower Burst and 118138 Beautiful Wings

Then I started to surf and found this on Lyn Pratt's blog - how cool is this!
Cream Confetti and one of our current in colours Poppy Parade is the cardstock featured in this card along with the stamp set 124976 (WM) Field Flowers

Then something OLD, (old being old DSP). I made this several months ago, using the Top Note die and scraps of paper.  The flower is a combination of stacking two flowers from 121812 Fun flowers and 115971 Blossom Party.   The brad from our sale-a-bration brad and ribbon pack.

Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Vintage Wall Paper EF, Fun Flowers Big Shot Die and Blossom Party Big Shot Die, Curly Cute

So you see there is a lot you can do with the top note die card wise, I hope these ideas inspire you to purchase and use this wonderful, versatile die.

Enjoy your craft, hope to see you again soon.
