Basic Flower Punch Art - Circles and Scallops

Basic flower punch art...something so simple and yet so very effective.  I have delivered a number of workshops demonstrating how easy it is to create pretty flowers to make simply lovely cards.

SU Demonstrators are very fortunate in that we have access to site where demonstrators share their creations - a place I get 99% of my ideas from.  Coupled with You-tube you can learn to do just about anything.

Scallop Circle Punch
This is a sample sheet I made up to demonstrate what you can do with a scallop circle punch when flower making.

From these examples, a card made from the first idea - distressed whisper white or coloured paper - pale colours look like carnations and dark colours like Cherry Cobbler and Rich Razzleberry look like camellias.

These Carnation like flowers were created from
6-8 Scallop Circles punched out of Stampin' Up! Whisper White cardstock,
Distress edges with colour of choice - I used Melon Mambo and moisten with a mister,
Scrunch up each scallop circle then and stacked on each other
Bind stack in the centre with a brad

Circle Punch - for all shape and sizes of flowers...
Do you remember as a child tearing a Mintie wrapper to see who got the longest piece?  If you had fun doing that then you will be right at home here.  Punch out a circle - any size and spiral cut into the centre.  Roll it up and place a small amount of blue on the inner edge to hold it all together.  I pushed one of our Rhinestones in the middle to give a bit of bling ... yes am loving Rhinestones and pearls..

To create the flowers below, I simply punched out 3 different sized circles and distress each circle by rolling it in my hands.  This then allowed me to separate the paper fibers and pull the circles apart. I then stacked 3 different sized circles on top of each other and added a centre - the flower punch from the Itty Bitty shapes.  You may choose to add a brad, Rhinestone or pearl.  I then spritzed with smooch to give a little shimmer, just like a real flower.
