Boy Birthday - Robot

A robot themed party, what fun!  My dear friend, blog editor and photographer, has a gorgeous little boy who turned 3 recently.  The party was themed Robots so I went to my craft boxes and dusted off an oldie but goodie stamp set Lots of Bots.  As always I turned to the internet for inspiration and these cards are what I came up with...

The images are coloured using ink and a blender pen and SU Markers. I've used Real Red and Not Quite Navy card stock.
I love using brads, even though I don't very often!

Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Grey are used on these cards. I placed the colours differently and was amazed at the differences that produced.

I embossed the grey panel with the Striped embossing folder 123128
Not Quite Navy and Real Red are set on the Crumb Cake base card.
Then I turned to crumb cake and combined with this retired DSP,I created these two cards.

I used Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Crumb Cake base card and added the nuts as brads to add to the dimension of the card.  The robot is cut out and lifted with dimensionals
love the little nuts!

Last but not least the final product given to the Birthday boy.

These were so fun to make, I had a real run on them.  Hope you like the layouts, colours and ideas.
Thank you for stopping by and having a look, I hope you have a lovely day crafting...

Masculine Cards - Lovely as a Tree

Male cards are something I avoid, but today I am going to show you that with a stamp set you probably own (if you don't please consider adding this as it is a must have) W116388 / C127793 Lovely as a Tree.  SU have a unique Woodgrain Embossing Folder 127821 which coupled with the Core'dinations Card Stock, makes for some lovely, easily made, male cards.

Chocolate Chip base card, highlights the tree and greeting W124948 / C120681 Best Dad Ever, which is also stamped in Chocolate Chip and the green foliage and edging, was added using SU Crayons and a Blender Pen.
A closer look at the button and twine and the sanded card stock - LOVE IT.

The Bubble Gum Green Core'dinations Card stock was embossed and then sanded to reveal the lighter tones and add emphasis to the embossing.
A colour swap, Bubble Gum Green as the base card highlights the green in the tree, once again added using blender pen and SU's water soluble crayons.  A slither of Champaign Glimmer paper adds a little bling to the Expresso Core'dinations Card stock which again has been embossed and sanded.

The tree is stamped in Old Olive to give a different effect.  I often use Grey, Chocolate Chip or Old Olive to  soften the stamped image. I rarely use black on an image I am going to colour. The greeting; from  Best Dad Ever W124948 / C120681, is stamped in Chocolate Chip

A closer look at the button, twine and the Denim Jean Ribbon 125053 that sets it off - I frayed the edge of both the ribbon and twine, again to add some texture.
The edge of the Whisper White card stock is stressed and lightly coloured.

I added a heap of twine and knots to this card, just to add some texture and dimension to the card.  I wanted to offset the symmetry. I've used the same colours and techniques, but centred the layout to achieve this look...

This image is again stamped in old olive and coloured in SU Water Colour Crayons. The greeting; from  Best Dad Ever W124948 / C120681, is stamped in Chocolate Chip
I dulled down the colours, with Crumb Cake base card and I replaced the Gumball Green with Old Olive and stamped the tree in Chocolate Chip to achieve this card.

The tree is stamped in Old Olive and very lightly coloured with SU's water colour crayons using the blender pens.  The greeting; from  Best Dad Ever W124948 / C120681, is stamped in Chocolate Chip.  The layout is set on Crumb Cake.
A change of colour - Not Quite Navy and Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations Card stock coupled with the tree stamped in Chocolate Chip ...

Bold and Bright with autumn colours of yellows, reds, old olive and browns for the tree.  The greeting; from  Best Dad Ever W124948 / C120681, is stamped in Chocolate Chip
A little closer...

SU has the most beautiful ribbons, Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon mounted on Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon.
How easy are these cards?  So avoid male cards no more and stay posted for many more ideas...
Enjoy the rest of your week and happy crafting,

Female Cards - Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink, I'm feeling a little vintage and the need to use pink...  I have created these using the inspiration of the SU Demonstrator Global site.

The base card is Primrose Petals, Whisper White has been embossed using the big shot and EF 121809 Framed Tulips.  The card is then randomly stamped with French Foliage W123557 / C121166 in Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette.  The Butterfly is cut from Pink Pirouette using the big shot and 118138 Beautiful Wings and sits on the cut out from 126999 Delicate Doilies Sizzlit.
A close up so you can see the edge of the butterfly is sponged with Crumb Cake, as is the Greeting shown above.
Rhinestones add a little bling and definition to the body of the Butterfly.

Not everyone has a bigshot so I made this card, a little more layering and the butterflies can be interchanged with SU butterfly punches 127526 Elegant Butterfly and 129406 Bitty Butterfly.

Crumb Cake base, Pink Pirouette frame, Whisper White card stamped with images from the must have stamp set French Foliage W123557 / C121166 stamped in Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette

Again a little closer so you can see the subtle sponging on the winds of the butterfly.

The crochet trim featured on both cards is 118481 Victoria. I just love it.  Again simple layouts to produce purrrfect cards to give to your loved ones.  Rach I must again thank you for such beautiful photography, you have captured the true beauty of these cards.

I hope you visit again soon and please remember to sign up to receive an e-mail each time I post.
