Stampin' Up! Fussy Cutting edges

A lovely finish to a card is a boarder of fussy cutting.  This post showcases the technique where the edge of the card stock is stamped and then fussy cut to produce a very striking card!

A Crafty Cat - Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight
In Berry Burst, Stampin' Up! new hot pink in colour,
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight

and Tranquil Tide below, the cards are simply created by stamping and fussy cutting the mat that is adhered to the coloured base card. The stamping is colour coordinated with the ink and Designer Series Paper. The sentiment "thank you" is from the Daisy Delight set (143669)

You can choose any stamp for this layout - above I used the butterfly from Butterfly Basics (137154) and masked to over lap the butterflies, then die cut the detailed butterfly to add depth to the card.

A Crafty Cat - Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight
Back to Daisy Delight - just a gorgeous little flower that can be transformed into any aster with consideration of colour, petal shape and petal density.  I AM having a lot of fun with this bundle (145361)

Stampin' Up! Gift Tags

Sale-a-bration is a great time for me to take the time to make some tags of Thank you.  For ladies who attended class and placed orders, I created thank you tags with ribbon, to wrap around their SAB items  - all a little different, each a one off...

A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Flower Shop & Stampin' Up! Another Thank You.
All put together the SAB gift looked like this... Blushing Bride card stock stamped in Real Red.
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Flower Shop & Stampin' Up! Another Thank You.
Smoky Slate card stock stamped with Real Red...
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Flower Shop & Stampin' Up! Another Thank You.
Pool Party card stock stamped in Tempting Turquoise
A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Remarkable You & Stampin' Up! Cottage Greetings.

Tags are easy to create and look great as a small gesture of appreciation.
To create these tags I simply cut out a 2 inch strip of Stampin' Up! Card stock, 4 inches in length and used Stampin' Up! Tag punches to sculpture the tag end.
I then stamped the card stock with a coordinating colour and then stamped the greeting to match.
Too easy ;-)

Triple Layer Cards with Stampin' Up!

It is always fun to create a card trend, and this is one from a couple of years ago that has re-emerged, the triple layer card, which is in fact three sets of pictures on mats, on top of each other.  The technique is relatively easy, just required a lot of cutting out.  I love Sandi Maclver's video presentation which can be viewed HERE ... and here is what the A Crafty Cat team made in class.

The mats are taken out and the Whisper White layers are re layered on top of each other and the assembly is then stamped.

Every once in a while, each one of us is lucky to have someone very special enter our lives.  I have been fortunate to have many enter and stay, some enter and go.  I wanted to celebrate two of these wonderful women that are currently in my life, with a workshop hosted for them so they could attract the freebies.  The theme a Pot of flowers that never die - very fitting... These are the creations of those that attended the celebration.

To launch the 2014 - 15 Stampin' Up! catalogue, for Kathryn Free in Logan, Qld, Australia, we featured a project utilizing the Z fold card.  This is a very simple card to cut and fold as shown HERE by Dawn Griffith.  These cards were created at Kathryn Free's Catalogue Launch...

A Crafty Cat: Z Fold Card, very stunning in Black and Real Red highlighting the Stampin' Up! sets of Papillion Potpourri
Instructions:-
I cut a piece of 12x12 card stock in half to give me a 6"x12" piece of cardstock
I then scored the 12" length at 4 and 8".  These are the fold lines to make the Z
I measured and marked 4 1/2" on the 6" length and then cut from the 6" point to the 4 1/2" point to give me the angle which is the feature of the Z fold card.

Diane Jackson always creates something beautiful, just love the colour combo of her Z fold card...
A Crafty Cat: Z Fold Card, very stunning x Diane Jackson, highlighting the Stampin' Up! sets of Flower Shop & Petite Petals
The girls enjoyed having a card base made in seconds, the challenge was then to embellish it.
For me, this took some time but for others, no problem at all.

I just love trying out and dressing different card folds, hope this inspires you to try this very simple fold and to dress it up too!

Have a purrrfectly crafty good day,
love
