2016 Christmas Stampin' Up! Easel Slide card

The Easel Slide card is my last post for the year.  I must confess I had trouble making and trouble demonstrating this fold - but we got there in the end.  The idea came from pinterest and I watched the video by Jan Brown and Dawn Griffith.  These are my creations... Father Christmas, he is so grand...

Tip - use something symmetrical to make your hole on the pull tab, don't use the bow - makes the card pull funny...Ooops  

To Merry Mice, I can hear it squeaking to me in a tune ... falala lalala

I embossed the cover of this card - one of the girls in the class thought of this and it looked so great I had to case it...but I had trouble getting the cutter to cut through it so maybe cut first and emboss second???

I just love these Merry Mice, and enjoyed creating with them.  As I write this blog I see soooooo many other things I could do with this card fold and these very cute mice!...

I love the Easel slide card fold so much, I held a class for the A Crafty Cat team and this is what they made for a special someone for Christmas...I love the Merry Mice Stampin' Up! stamp set sooo much, they are just too cute!

The Father Christmas Stampin' Up! stamp is another favourite, he is so grand...Embellished Ornament mistletoe on the tag!

2016 Christmas Stampin' Up! Embossing

Hello and welcome,

This post features the combination of heat/powder embossing and the use of textured impressions embossing folders to create beautiful Ornament cards. This is the first of my cards showcasing clear embossing over the rock and roll technique...

Cherry Cobbler base with Old Olive (Holly Textured Impressions Embossing folder) and the rock and roll done in Real Red and Cherry Cobbler...

Tempting Turquoise and Soft Sky are a purrrfect match with Silver and Whisper White...

Again I used the rock and rolled technique on the ornament in Soft Sky first then Tempting Turquoise and clear powder embossed over the top...

Old Olive and Very Vanilla base with the ornament powder/heat embossed in Gold embossing powder and highlighted with gold glimmer paper, gold foil and Gold Natural Trim...

The cards are an easy layout, the time in the powder/heat embossing.  They are lovely cards - the photos not doing them justice as they don't pick up the dimension and shine of the powder/heat embossing.

I love Smokey Slate as the base and then baubles featured in Blushing Bride Glimmer paper and Silver foil on Silver foil and Night of Navy respectively on these cards...

For many the colours of Red and White and the image of Santa/Father Christmas enhances the festive feel of Christmas... Which colours give you the Christmas feel?  Stampin' Up! have released a beautiful Detailed Santa thinlits die set that is easy to use and stunning in effect...

The lay out is stunning, quickly achieved so great for card sets... and you can add any greeting you wish...

I curled the lists and added a dimensional under it to hold it up...

In Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler... nothing short of stunning and one of my favourite cards...

And then to a major colour change - and a whole lot of work :-)  I just had to try this out!

Arhhh yes, but I cheated too!  I took the piece I didn't want out of the die and then ran the tape runner over the back of the die, on the remaining pieces.  This held the pieces I wanted to stay in the die, then I turned it and placed it on the base card.  The piece are not as puffy as  they would be, if I took them out and replaced them individually, but this was a whole lot easier and less time consuming.

The beautiful greeting is from the hostess stamp set Holly Jolly Layers WM/CM and coloured with marker.
