Teaching my customers how to create a special Christmas card for a special someone is always a pleasure and very rewarding.  It never ceases to amaze me how one little idea (thanks to Jan and Pinterest) can be turned into a special personal creation.

2015 Christmas - Stampin' Up! Z fold Easel card using the Delicate Ornament thinlits



Welcome to my third 2015 Christmas post.  I love making Christmas cards and for close family and friends, I like to make a special little something. This year I've chosen this card fold to highlight the beautiful Delicate Ornament thinlit die from Stamping' Up! I  CASEd a card I found on pinterest by Jan.  Her card is stunning and I just had to highlight this as one of the 24 cards for Christmas.

I love the crispness of the red and white.  You can see the card is simply an A5 folded in half with the cover folded back on it's self.  The inside and half size cover is highlighted with DSP.  The decorative ornament is mounted on an embossed piece of card (1/4" smaller than the dimensions of the A6 card), which is then mounted on the half size cover.

I went traditional and used red and green for this card and created the stop out of the branch from the Bird Builder punch...

My third creation is my favourite, in Soft Sky, this card is complemented by the Delicate ornament cut out in Diamonds Glimmer paper.  When the card is shut the baubles are the highlight....

2015 - Christmas Stampin' Up! To You and Yours shaker cards project kit

Stmpin' Up! "To You and Yours shaker card project kit" is a great way to create one of my favourite cards - shaker cards,  the purrrfect Christmas solution for that some one crafty or for you to make up and give to your loved ones.  The kits allow flexibility in that you can change backings, stamping and presentation.  To demonstrate the flexibility of the kit, here are some card creations from my class...

The sequence is supplied in the kit and it makes great baubles - the set To You and Yours Too, was used for the tree in the back ground of the tree window.

Inspired to create? fantastic, because this really is a fun kit, just remember to do all of your stamping first, then stick on your window sheet THEN the foam stripes to then make the shaker bit.  Instructions are in the kit so you will be fine if you follow them - yes there is a story LOL

2015 Christmas - Stampin' Up! Sleigh Ride edgelits

What a fun set to start my 24 days of Christmas projects other than with, Stampin' Up! Sleigh Ride edgelits.  I love the versatility of this set, with the houses that can be used if you are on the move, the trees for well...anything, and the horse drawn sled. So my first presentation of Cards for Christmas are these gorgeous creations by A Crafty Cat team if the format of a bauble ... The baubles were created using  the Stampin' Up! Sleigh Ride edgelits and the 8cm or 3 1/4" circle die.

Triple Layer Cards with Stampin' Up!

It is always fun to create a card trend, and this is one from a couple of years ago that has re-emerged, the triple layer card, which is in fact three sets of pictures on mats, on top of each other.  The technique is relatively easy, just required a lot of cutting out.  I love Sandi Maclver's video presentation which can be viewed HERE ... and here is what the A Crafty Cat team made in class.

The mats are taken out and the Whisper White layers are re layered on top of each other and the assembly is then stamped.
