French Foliage Workshop Highlight

French Foliage was the the focus of a workshop I conducted sometime ago.  This is what the lovely ladies from PLR made at that workshop.

This one was made by Marion

This one was made by Norma...

and Kris made this one...

I am sure you will agree that these cards are beautiful and I must tell you the last two ladies have been card making for nearly a year!  I am so proud of their beautiful work.

If you are unsure about card making but would like to give it ago like Norma and Kris, please call me and you can come to a beginners class and see if you like the art of card making.  Have a wonderful day.

French Foliage & Hearts

Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits gives you a textured heart to use as a feature on your cards if you want a little more than the small heart from the Hearts Collection Framelits 125599.  This card was inspired from a card I made a few posts ago (details can be viewed HERE) in Wedding & Cards of Love...which also implements French Foliage on the diagonal of the background of the card and Embellished Events for the greeting...

Wisteria Wonder, Black and Whisper White are the colours used on this card.
This card, in Marina Mist, Whisper White and Crumb Cake, utilises the Framed Tulips EF 121809 and Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits 117332 as the features. I roughly sponged the edges of the Whisper White background card with Marina Mist and Crumb Cake ink.
The ribbon is from the new seasons Catalogue 2013 (129292); gorgeous striped Organdy Ribbon.
I trailed the French Foliage splatter in Crumb Cake, diagonally but randomly, on the background, with little highlights of Marina Mist hearts from the stamp set Create a Cupcake (W123553 / C121982).
A close up of the embossing and sponging...
The greeting used is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments (W119185 / C120024), stamped in Crumb Cake on Whisper White and punched out using the Word Window Punch.  This is mounted on Marina Mist, punched out using the Modern Label Punch.  The greeting is then raised using SU Dimensionals.
Both the greeting and scallop heart are raised using SU Dimensionals

Time to step away from the blues and go the Raspberry Ripple and Melon Mambo on Whisper White.  Sponge the edges and this time I spritzed the diagonal instead of using the French Foliage...
I like the French Foliage a lot more, what do you think?
Hearts, hearts, hearts...
I hope you enjoyed today's post - I would love to read your comments, so please leave a comment and let me know if you love French Foliage as much as I do.

Wedding & Cards of Love 1

Wedding Cards and Cards of Love are always beautiful to make.  When asked to create some samples, I went to the obvious stamp set "Love and Laughter" W127512 / C125477 and created these cards.  First Pink Pirouette, Whisper White and Silver Glimmer Paper and a great big cake...

Nice and simple, Whisper White and Pink Pirouette, the border created using the big shot and embossing folder Framed Tulips 121809.  The Silver Glimmer paper lifts the card as does lifting the cake with SU dimensionals.
A change of colour to Wisteria Wonder, Black and Silver Glimmer paper 124005.  This card was totally cased from Nancy Amato, a fellow SU Demonstrator. Isn't it gorgeous!

I mixed in a Spritzer Bottle 126185 a drop of Frost White Shimmer paint 116854 and rubbing alcohol to spray over the Whisper White cardstock and image to add the dazzling shimmer you can see in the above photo.

A change of orientation and use of the gorgeous tulle in crumb cake (now retired) and the must have Hearts Collection Framelits 125599.  Search my blog for more posts using the Hearts Collection Framelits.
Whisper White on Perfect Plum looks great with the coordinating ribbon
A closer look at the tulle and diamantes,
Real Red is always stunning when combined with white.  I used  Hearts Collection Framelits 125599, embossing folder Delicate Designs 127023 and coordinating Large Scallop Edgelit 127019 to create the following card.  The flowers are punched out using the Boho Blossoms punch 119858, in Red and Silver Glimmer paper to give that extra bling to the card.
The cake and greeting are raised with SU Dimensionals to give depth to the card.
A closer look so you can see the embossed detail and small pearl highlights to match the centres of the flowers.
Thank you for stopping by and having a look, I do hope you have seen something you like.
Have a purrrfect day and happy crafting

Female Cards - Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink, I'm feeling a little vintage and the need to use pink...  I have created these using the inspiration of the SU Demonstrator Global site.

The base card is Primrose Petals, Whisper White has been embossed using the big shot and EF 121809 Framed Tulips.  The card is then randomly stamped with French Foliage W123557 / C121166 in Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette.  The Butterfly is cut from Pink Pirouette using the big shot and 118138 Beautiful Wings and sits on the cut out from 126999 Delicate Doilies Sizzlit.
A close up so you can see the edge of the butterfly is sponged with Crumb Cake, as is the Greeting shown above.
Rhinestones add a little bling and definition to the body of the Butterfly.

Not everyone has a bigshot so I made this card, a little more layering and the butterflies can be interchanged with SU butterfly punches 127526 Elegant Butterfly and 129406 Bitty Butterfly.

Crumb Cake base, Pink Pirouette frame, Whisper White card stamped with images from the must have stamp set French Foliage W123557 / C121166 stamped in Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette

Again a little closer so you can see the subtle sponging on the winds of the butterfly.

The crochet trim featured on both cards is 118481 Victoria. I just love it.  Again simple layouts to produce purrrfect cards to give to your loved ones.  Rach I must again thank you for such beautiful photography, you have captured the true beauty of these cards.

I hope you visit again soon and please remember to sign up to receive an e-mail each time I post.
