2014 Christmas Stampin' Up! Partridge and Pears

This is the second post for Partridge and Pears (WM133854 / CM133857), makes me sing the song every time I use the stamp LOL  This post is using the stamp set on a Whisper White background.  The tree is stamped in Momento Tuxedo black, coloured with Stampin' Up! Blendabilities and mounted (using dimensionals/foam dots) on an embossed background.  In this case Filagree Frame 135818.  Gold Glitz was them used to highlight the fruit buds...

This tree was not fussy cut as per above, the square was mounted on Old Olive cardstock with minimal framing.  This was then mounted on Whisper White which was embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder 127821

Back to fussy cutting out the tree and mounting it on an embossed (On Point 135876) Whisper White cardstock base.

I love to colour and the blendabilities make colouring and toning so easy.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you tomorrow for another post using Work of Art to create a Christmas Tree

Until then, happy crafting,

Happy Easter 2013 - Cards

Easter cards and baskets are so much fun to make and as I said in my previous post this year, since it will be my sunshine's first Easter Egg hunt, I thought it best I make something a little cute.  This post will feature the Easter cards made with punch art bunnies.

I made two cards, one for the family and one for our son Benjamin and his had to match his basket - I have a thing for matching and that is why I LOVE Stampin' Up!

The Card colour is Early Expresso which I embossed with Wood grain Embossing Folder 127821.  I did not stress the card but I think it would look good with a light sand...

The tag, I used Baja Breeze for the background (to match the basket) and rollergraphed image of easter eggs; and I used Whisper White with the greeting from Every Bunny (W124968 / C122707) and stamped in Early Expresso which is also used to sponge the edge of the Whisper White to again soften the edge.  The brad is the same used on the handle of the basket as is the Crumb Cake Seam Binding.

And there is the Easter Bunny's "bom" (as my son Benjamin says with a giggle) poking though a punched out 2 1/2" circle punch 120906.

Punch Art HINT and TIP  -  Use a paper piercer, tooth pick or similar to move smaller pieces into place and to dot glue onto smaller pieces.

To make the rabbit's bom you will need the following punches
                                             119850     1 3/4 Circle punch
                                             118074     Owl Builder punch
                                             119855     Large Oval punch
                                             120908     Small Oval punch
                                             119858     Boho Blossoms punch

Punch Art HINT and TIP  -  Make the rabbit in two pieces ie bom and face seperately and place one each side (you do not necessarily have to have the bom showing on the front of the card)
  • I used the Circle for the "bom" and sponged the perimeter generously with Pink Pirouette
  • The feet/rear paws are the Large Oval in Pink Pirouette but lightly sponged
  • The pads were made from the  Small Oval and medium circle from the Owl Builder punch
  • The little cotton tail is a Boho Blossom
To make the rabbit's head you will need the following punches
                                      119850     1 3/4 Circle punch
                                              OR
119847    Ornament punch with the tip and hanging piece cut off
                                      118074     Owl Builder punch
                                      119855     Large Oval punch
                                      120908     Small Oval punch
                                      127526     Elegant Butterfly punch
                                      119858     Boho Blossoms punch
  • Once again I used the small oval punch for the cheeks, and drew on the whiskers and dots (what do you call those - still cannot remember)
  • Owl punch's large circle for the nose,
  • Owl punch circles for the eyes (drew the pupils on, putting those on was hard enough)
  • Large Oval punch for the ears and cut the Elegant Butterfly down to fit in the ear (how I miss that retired oval punch that fits inside ever so neatly! but this is kinda cute).
  • The body peeps from behind but I added the cotton tail again ie Boho Blossom punch
I can almost hear him/her sniffing
The family card is made from Garden Green card embossed with the SAB Fine Street Embossing Folder set on Wild Wasabi.  The rest is as above but this time I changed the eyes for something different.

 and on the inside

Happy Easter to all of my precious friends and valued customers.  I hope you have a wonderful and safe break with a tickle of crafting.

Christmas Card 4

The Holiday catalogue is awesome and jammed packed with lovely tools and products for cardmaking.  Today I thought a bit of technique should be used and I found this lovely card using (yet again) a new product from the 2012 Holiday Catalogue, the Woodgrain Embossing Folder (127821). The card base is Very Vanilla (106550), and the edges of the door front is sponged with Choc Chip ink.  The wreath is made from the leaf of the Bird Builder (117191) punch, and Boho Blossoms flower punch (119858) highlighted with SU Rinestones.  The greeting is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and is from the stamp set Greetings of the Season (W128030 / C128033) ... it really is a must.
I love this card and again this was cased from the SU Demonstrators site.

A tip, when using this embossing folder it may cut your paper, if this is the case with your machine, reduce the thickness of your layering/shimming/sandwhich.  I find it works best with no tabs.

Had to show you a close up of the wreath and ribbon...Thanks Rach for the great photography.

I've never placed a wreath on our front door so not too sure if I've placed it anywhere near where it should be...I'll be checking out wreaths when we travel around to look at Christmas lights LOL.

Keep on creating for Christmas...

Christmas Card 3

Hello crafty cats, you had better get a cup/glass of your favourite drink, this is a large/long post.

The new/2012 Holiday Catalogue (old mini) has a number of fantastic new items, one of those being this gorgeous Embossing Folder - Holiday Frame (127820).  It is so simple, quick, versatile and effective to use.

I hope you enjoy these samples, highlighted with glimmer paper - silver (124005) or red (121790), SU Cord - Sweater Trim, available in Cherry Cobbler (129938), Gumball Green (127838) and Whisper White (129937) and the fabulous stamp sets of Joyous Celebrations (W128066 / C128069) and Greetings of the Season (W128030 / C128033).

Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White are the colours used here and I had to use SU's Iridescent Ice 101930 (much like Dazzling Diamonds in embossing powder - now there is a winner) over the embossing.
Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, Garden Green and Whisper White with more iridescent ice (101930) embossing powder.

A close up so you can see the fine particles of the iridescent ice embossing powder.  Just purrrfect...

Love this new Sweater Trim and can you see the iridescent ice - one of my favourite products.

Moving to some not so traditional colours but beautiful all the same, Blue and White...
The snow flake and greeting is from the Snow Swirled stamp set (W115868 / C127799).  I love blue, Marina Mist is the blue on this card coupled with Whisper White and the Silver Shimmer card stars.
A change of colour and technique.  This one I cut out the embossed image and wiped over the raised sections with Wild Wisabi.  The centre piece is from Every Little Bit (W121506 / C120558) a cute little set, punched out with the XL oval punch (119859), and the perimeter sponged.
Wild Wasabi...nice
LOL a big change of colour! Daffodil Delight on More Mustard...The centre piece is from Every Little Bit (W121506 / C120558) as above, punched out with the XL Oval punch (119859), and the perimeter sponged.

I embossed this with iridescent ice again - you can just see it above the bow, made from SU's new 1/4" (6.4mm) Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon
SU released a new paper, (2012 Holiday Catalogue) Core'dinations Card Stock in Cherry Cobbler (127846), Early Expresso (127848) and Gumball Green (127847).  It is unique in that when you sand it, a monochromatic colour is revealed. One side of the card stock is smooth, the other textured as seen below.  Another product in the Holiday Catalogue is the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin Pad (126857).  A subtle shimmer of silver can be added to your project, though you do have to pick your card colour as it is not as stunning on all colours of card stock.
I love this Core'rdinates paper...
More new stuff, Woodgrain (127821) embossing folder, another must from the Holiday Catalogue.

No guesses to  how I've made this card - but I wiped the embossing with Daffodil Delight and then Illuminate Glimmer Pad just to see what it would do...hopefully you can see a shimmer of silver here and there...
Daffodil Delight with Core'dination card stock embossed with the Wood Grain embossing folder.

Last but not least, thought I'd better get festive and traditional with REAL RED... The centre is again a stamp from Every Little Bit (W121506 / C120558) , punched out with the XL oval punch (119859), and the perimeter sponged...love that Sweater Trim.

Yes went back to more Iridescent Ice embossing...and you can see the glitter which is almost glossy

And the last, another Real Red combination...
This time I rubbed the Real Red ink pad over the embossing, love that cord...
What a mammoth post.  I hope this inspires you to purchase this fantastic embossing folder or if you already have it, get it out and use it!  It is so easy to create gorgeous cards with it.

Thanks for stopping by, and please watch for the next post, and enjoy your card making this wonderful festive season.
