Stampin' Up! Paper flower cards

Stampin' Up! products are so varied and today I wanted to show you a couple of cards that were created using punches and the Stampin' Up! Big Shot machine.  Embossing folders were used to texture contrasting background papers; the flowers were created from a Big XL die and the leaves were created using a sizzlits die.  Punches were used to make the centre band and highlight the stamped greeting.

Pink Pirouette with Wild Wasabi on a background of Soft Suede
So simple yet gorgeous...

Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette
Rose created this one - stunning...

Created by Rose Christian - stunning to say the least

In gold, Marina Mist and Real Red this card is highlighted with silver glitter paper and Wild Wasabi.  A prize for any Mum on her birthday or for Mother's day or just to say thank you.

Thank you so much for stopping by,
I hope to see you soon

Christmas Card - Stampin' Up! "Santa's List" 2

Santa's List is my favourite Stampin' Up! stamp for 2013 and this would have to be my favourite card.  I love the vintage or earthy creations with this stamp and the many techniques involved to create these cards including the use of the Apothecary Accents Framelits (127003) and the Window Frames Collection framelits (129021) ...enjoy

This layout was cased from Wendy Stainback with Santa being stamped on water colour paper and coloured with Real Red marker and a blender pen on both cards.

On a background of Crumbcake, I layered Early Expresso and Cherry Cobbler.

The rosette is made on a sticky round using a twisted piece (1/3 of the width) of burlap and folded any stray strands of burlap behind the rosette.  Here is a closer look...

and then I began to play, sponging more heavily & adding the bow...
Jingle all the way is from Christmas Classics and the embossing is done with Perfect Polka Dots and Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.

I nestled the Window Frames Collection framelits dies and used the burlap for a square bow (not tied) and lightly sponged it with Early Expresso Ink, just to give it a little highlighting...
I love the addition of the frayed burlap to both cards.

Santa's list is a wonderful stamp and you will see a couple more layouts where I have used him.  If you love him and want to purchase him, get in quick, he is only available until the end of January 2014.

Happy creating over the Christmas holiday period,
love

Stampin' Up! Papillion Potpourri Dazzling Diamonds v's Iridescent Ice

Stampin' Up! have the best, fine glitter, known as Dazzling Diamonds to add to your crafting projects.  For those of us who love to add a little glitter to our powder embossing, Stampin' Up! have answer - Iridescent Ice.
Dazzling Diamonds used on the centre LHS butterfly : Iridescent Ice used on the centre RHS butterfly.
For a closer look - Dazzling Diamonds adhered with a 2-way Glue Pen
Island Indigo on Marina Mist highlighted with Dazzling Diamonds
Iridescent Ice embossed on Island Indigo gives this look...
Butterfly stamped in versa mark and then Island Indigo.  Iridescent Ice sprinkled over the top, excess tapped off and then the powder was heat set.

I made the following card in Island Indigo and Pool Party featuring the beautiful stamp set Papillion Potpourri WM132058/CM123759 and acrylic block stamping for the background of each butterfly.
I used a two way glue pen around the Pool Party mat to give that extra bling.  The centre butterfly is embossed in Iridescent Ice, however I just don't think you can see it....
A little closer and from a different angle you can see the Iridescent Ice on the butterfly cut out using the coordinating Stampin' Up! Elegant Butterfly 127526 punch.

A very simple layout, but a favourite when it comes to butterflies; and room for the fitting greeting when the time comes.
Whisper White and Island Indigo with all butterflies embossed with Iridescent Ice.
Perhaps you can see the embossing in this closer shot?? I like the way it gives a wet appearance to the ink...
Owwww now you can see the glitter, so pretty LOL
OK and now for a layered card, Pool Party card stock (which was spritzed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch) with the lower section embossed with Square Lattice embossing folder, the top half embossed with Perfect Polka dots and joined with Stampin' Up! Stitched Grossgrain. I used a Pool Party base for the butterflies and acrylic block background stamp, with stamping in Island Indigo for the script (from French Foliage) and butterflies. The base card is Island Indigo as is the base for the greeting.

A little closer look at the acrylic block stamping background and the Dazzling Diamonds in this picture - yes I loaded it on ...
French Foliage Script behind the butterfly looks great.
Glitter, Glitter here I come.  I am so grateful we no longer have to mix our clear with Diamonds so that we can get our bling with embossing, but remember if you are after extra bling with your embossing powders you can add either Dazzling Diamonds or Iridescent Ice to any colour embossing powder.  Which is your favourite product?  Leave a comment and let me know.

Thank you for visiting and happy crafting!
Love

Christmas Card 13

I love this idea of the folded Christmas Tree card.  I saw this on the SU Demonstrator site and had to learn how to fold this awesome Christmas tree so click here or here to find out how.  The tree is simply zig zag folding of half of a circle.  Double sided DSP gives the stunning effect shown below.  You can, although, stamp a piece of card on both sides if you wanted the same colour all the way through...hmmm will have to try that!

Garden Green is the base card with Very Vanilla embossed with Perfect Polka Dot (117335) as the background for the SU DSP tree and Cherry Cobbler seam binding.  The greeting is from Joyous Celebrations (W128066 / C128069) stamp set.

Above is my first attempt with the tree and the layout is cased, and then I got to playing...Big Tree - no scallops

Garden Green is the base card with Very Vanilla embossed with Perfect Polka Dot (117335) as the background for the SU DSP tree.  The greeting is from Greetings of the Season (W128030 / C128033) and stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

Back to little tree with scallops...

Cherry Cobbler is the base card with Very Vanilla embossed with Fancy Fan (127751) as the background for the SU DSP tree and Pear Pizzaz (retired) seam binding.  The greeting is from (W128030 / C128033) and stamped in Cherry Cobbler.
Cherry Cobbler twine ties the Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons on the Seam binding.
I enjoyed folding these trees, I hope you give it a go and enjoy making them too.

Love and holiday cheer,

2011 Christmas

It is Christmas and this means purchasing or making presents and making beautiful cards.  I have over 150 on my card list and the majority of them receive hand made Christmas cards, so below are examples of the cards I will be sending out this year - nice and simple but elegant !  These are also the cards I will be demonstrating at my Christmas card workshop.  Let me know what you think!

Garden Green & Real Red are the colours I've used on the stamp sets Many Merry Messages; Baroque Motifs; Delightful Decorations

Lucky Limade and Real Red look so awesome together when combined with Delightful Decorations.

To show I really did make heaps of these

Inspired by one of my wonderful customers Erin...

I made heaps of these too
Stitched Stockings on Garden Green or Poppy Parande with a bit of supernova glitter for a little bling on various dry embossed backgrounds

Poppy Parade and Lucky Limade (the 2011-13 In colours) are gorgeous together with stamp set Contempo Christmas - a great value for money Christmas set.
Same idea here but I've turned the Baroque Motifs stamp around and used a different bauble from Dellightful Decorations.

Heaps of these too...
Dasher is one of my favourite stamp sets and is amazing versatile for Christmas cards.
Dasher - one of my favourite stamps.  Choc Chip stamping and matting on Garden Green.  You can use any Christmay roller including the retired so swirley or current sparkle & shine or sassy sparkles (above) or even Starburst...and don't forget to put diamonds on Dasher's antlers
This is stunning - and really simple.  Dasher stamped in cherry cobbler, next to Lovely as a tree, stamped through a circular window and then chalked gently to give subtle colour.

Heaps of these werer made too...
