Christmas Card - Stampin' Up! "Santa's List" 4

The versatility of Stampin' Up! "Santa's List" continues with these layouts...a little bolder than the last post, but wow...  On these cards I incorporated Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper to back and highlight Santa.

I stamped Santa on Whisper White Card stock to demonstrate the effectiveness of colouring just by directional strokes of the marker (in this case Real Red).  To add a little bling to Santa I matted his image on Red Glimmer Paper...nice...
The greeting is from the set "A Banner Christmas"  WM 130252 / CM 130255
This card sees Santa's image matted with Gumball Green not only to pick up the Green in the DSP but I wanted to feature the 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon...

The Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon is simply looped and adhered in place using Sticky Strip...

The greeting is from the wonderful set "Joyous Celebrations"

A bit of distressing around the greeting to match the matting; the colours all tie together and ta da
If you don't have Santa's List and you are falling for him, please let me know so I can order this set in for you - only a couple of days left before the holiday catalogue comes to an end.

Happy crafting

Christmas Card - Stampin' Up! "Santa's List" 1

Stampin' Up! Santa's List stamp is my favourite stamp for Christmas card creations this year.  I've implemented the vintage/earthy colours of Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Sued and Early Expresso.  I much prefer these colours as I think they are a little more Australian, even though poor Santa is in that hot suit LOL...

This card is cased from kb papercraft...
The greeting is from No Peeking and the framing is made from (in Cherry Cobbler) Modern Label punch cut in half and mounted so that the ends just peak out and (Early Expresso) Decorative Label punch.

This card is of similar layout but I used a retired roller graph, coloured Santa with Real Red marker and blender pen and added another flag of that wonderful burlap - must have ribbon ...
Somehow I added snow - not sure how or where I did this but how cool is it!
Greeting is from Joyous Celebrations

So let the Christmas card creations begin... whether it be to wish friends and family a Merry Christmas or  for those you love and want to remember at the end of each year,  I hope you enjoy making Christmas/end of year cards as much as I do.

Happy creating...

Christmas Card 13

I love this idea of the folded Christmas Tree card.  I saw this on the SU Demonstrator site and had to learn how to fold this awesome Christmas tree so click here or here to find out how.  The tree is simply zig zag folding of half of a circle.  Double sided DSP gives the stunning effect shown below.  You can, although, stamp a piece of card on both sides if you wanted the same colour all the way through...hmmm will have to try that!

Garden Green is the base card with Very Vanilla embossed with Perfect Polka Dot (117335) as the background for the SU DSP tree and Cherry Cobbler seam binding.  The greeting is from Joyous Celebrations (W128066 / C128069) stamp set.

Above is my first attempt with the tree and the layout is cased, and then I got to playing...Big Tree - no scallops

Garden Green is the base card with Very Vanilla embossed with Perfect Polka Dot (117335) as the background for the SU DSP tree.  The greeting is from Greetings of the Season (W128030 / C128033) and stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

Back to little tree with scallops...

Cherry Cobbler is the base card with Very Vanilla embossed with Fancy Fan (127751) as the background for the SU DSP tree and Pear Pizzaz (retired) seam binding.  The greeting is from (W128030 / C128033) and stamped in Cherry Cobbler.
Cherry Cobbler twine ties the Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons on the Seam binding.
I enjoyed folding these trees, I hope you give it a go and enjoy making them too.

Love and holiday cheer,

Christmas Card 3

Hello crafty cats, you had better get a cup/glass of your favourite drink, this is a large/long post.

The new/2012 Holiday Catalogue (old mini) has a number of fantastic new items, one of those being this gorgeous Embossing Folder - Holiday Frame (127820).  It is so simple, quick, versatile and effective to use.

I hope you enjoy these samples, highlighted with glimmer paper - silver (124005) or red (121790), SU Cord - Sweater Trim, available in Cherry Cobbler (129938), Gumball Green (127838) and Whisper White (129937) and the fabulous stamp sets of Joyous Celebrations (W128066 / C128069) and Greetings of the Season (W128030 / C128033).

Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White are the colours used here and I had to use SU's Iridescent Ice 101930 (much like Dazzling Diamonds in embossing powder - now there is a winner) over the embossing.
Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, Garden Green and Whisper White with more iridescent ice (101930) embossing powder.

A close up so you can see the fine particles of the iridescent ice embossing powder.  Just purrrfect...

Love this new Sweater Trim and can you see the iridescent ice - one of my favourite products.

Moving to some not so traditional colours but beautiful all the same, Blue and White...
The snow flake and greeting is from the Snow Swirled stamp set (W115868 / C127799).  I love blue, Marina Mist is the blue on this card coupled with Whisper White and the Silver Shimmer card stars.
A change of colour and technique.  This one I cut out the embossed image and wiped over the raised sections with Wild Wisabi.  The centre piece is from Every Little Bit (W121506 / C120558) a cute little set, punched out with the XL oval punch (119859), and the perimeter sponged.
Wild Wasabi...nice
LOL a big change of colour! Daffodil Delight on More Mustard...The centre piece is from Every Little Bit (W121506 / C120558) as above, punched out with the XL Oval punch (119859), and the perimeter sponged.

I embossed this with iridescent ice again - you can just see it above the bow, made from SU's new 1/4" (6.4mm) Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon
SU released a new paper, (2012 Holiday Catalogue) Core'dinations Card Stock in Cherry Cobbler (127846), Early Expresso (127848) and Gumball Green (127847).  It is unique in that when you sand it, a monochromatic colour is revealed. One side of the card stock is smooth, the other textured as seen below.  Another product in the Holiday Catalogue is the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin Pad (126857).  A subtle shimmer of silver can be added to your project, though you do have to pick your card colour as it is not as stunning on all colours of card stock.
I love this Core'rdinates paper...
More new stuff, Woodgrain (127821) embossing folder, another must from the Holiday Catalogue.

No guesses to  how I've made this card - but I wiped the embossing with Daffodil Delight and then Illuminate Glimmer Pad just to see what it would do...hopefully you can see a shimmer of silver here and there...
Daffodil Delight with Core'dination card stock embossed with the Wood Grain embossing folder.

Last but not least, thought I'd better get festive and traditional with REAL RED... The centre is again a stamp from Every Little Bit (W121506 / C120558) , punched out with the XL oval punch (119859), and the perimeter sponged...love that Sweater Trim.

Yes went back to more Iridescent Ice embossing...and you can see the glitter which is almost glossy

And the last, another Real Red combination...
This time I rubbed the Real Red ink pad over the embossing, love that cord...
What a mammoth post.  I hope this inspires you to purchase this fantastic embossing folder or if you already have it, get it out and use it!  It is so easy to create gorgeous cards with it.

Thanks for stopping by, and please watch for the next post, and enjoy your card making this wonderful festive season.
